Exclusive: Neighbours stars reveal ‘spectacular’ scenes from Week of the Dead

Neighbors spoilers follow.

Neighbors Stars Lucinda Cowden and Lucinda Armstrong Hall have welcomed the dramatic scenes to come as the soap’s special week draws to a close.

The duo’s respective characters, Melanie Pearson and Holly Hoyland, are among those in danger as the Australian soap airs a series of high-stakes episodes.

Melanie disappeared with her ex-husband Toadie Rebecchi earlier this week after discovering evidence of Tess Carmichael and Heath Royce’s crimes.

Although their current whereabouts remain a mystery, Melanie and Toadie have appeared in future spoiler images that show them being held captive in the Outback.

Speaking about the big week, Lucinda Cowden explained: “I was really excited to be part of it. It’s a really unusual thing to happen at Neighbors – to go there and make this huge and completely different story happen for all of us.

“There were all sorts of difficulties and obstacles. It was incredibly hot and there were so many flies! It was 44 degrees every day and there was no shade.

“But our team was incredible and I think it was a real adventure for all of us. I really enjoyed it.”

“It was really fun for us because it’s not about making cups of tea and chatting around the Waterhole, it’s something completely different. For all of us as actors, we like to get into something new and exciting.”

Meanwhile, Lucinda Armstrong Hall has opened up about Holly’s storylines which have taken a darker turn in recent months.

Holly was recently kidnapped by the dangerous Doctor Gavin Bowman, responsible for a series of poisonings around Erinsborough.

History is now in danger of repeating itself if Holly’s stay in the Outback with Heath continues to go wrong.

Lucinda Armstrong Hall said: “The mixture of emotions is something I was fortunate to be able to explore on Neighbors with Holly. She has a funny and comedic side, but she also gets involved in drama and intense intrigue.

“To be able to explore both of those elements and explore that range in the show is such a privilege. I love doing the drama so much, but I also love doing the comedy.

“Outback Week was nothing like anything I’ve ever experienced on the show. It felt like we were shooting an independent feature film or something.

“It was a really cool filming experience and I think that comes across in the episodes. The work that everyone put in was tremendous. I think it’s going to be something pretty spectacular.”

Neighbors“The big week – titled ‘Death in the Outback’ – will culminate in the disappearance of a character.
