All TV Series Cancelled and Renewed This Month (August 2024)

For a while, it seemed like everyone was too busy waiting for the fall TV season to cancel one of our favorite shows, but then our luck ran out: the Star Wars series. The Acolyte was canceled after one season on Disney+. My Lady Janethe historical drama with a romantic hero who could transform into a horse, was also canceled after one season on Prime Video. Nobody wants to have fun anymore.

Still, after a busy June and July, August has been relatively quiet so far, with renewals outnumbering cancellations. Peacock has renewed two of its popular reality series, The traitors And Love Island Games, while Netflix said yes to second seasons of its action-packed series The Gentlemen And SupacellApple TV+’s love affair with sci-fi continues, as the company has greenlit a second season of the multiverse drama Dark matter. Elsewhere, MTV has renewed RuPaul’s Drag Raceand Hulu has renewed Vanderpump Villa.
