Code Orange’s Reba Meyers Says She’s ‘Proud to Represent Growth, Confidence, Forgiveness, Humanity and Change’ After Joining Marilyn Manson’s Live Band

Code Orange’s Reba Meyers has spoken out for the first time since joining Marilyn Manson’s live band, saying she is “proud” to represent forgiveness.

The announcement of her joining the group comes after the ‘Beautiful People’ singer went on tour in support of Five Finger Death Punch on their US tour, releasing two new tracks.

The live concerts mark his first proper dates since 2019, and the new material follows a series of sexual abuse allegations that have been made against him since February 2021.

Among those complaints is one from his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood, who accused him of rape, torture and threats. Separate complaints of abuse have also been filed by more than 12 women. Numerous lawsuits have been filed since then, with Manson consistently denying all allegations.

After Manson signed a new record deal with independent label Nuclear Blast and released new tracks “As Sick As The Secrets Within” and “Raise The Red Flag,” the members of his new live band have also been revealed.

Making their stage debut with him in Pennsylvania on August 2 and making their first recorded appearance in the music video for “Raise The Red Flag,” the members include Meyers on guitar and Piggy D, formerly of Rob Zombie’s band, on bass, along with returning drummer Gil Sharone and guitarist Tyler Bates (via Loudwire).

Meyers has now spoken out about her plans to rejoin the group, sharing a new message on Instagram expressing what the concert means to her. “I’m proud to represent the growth, confidence, forgiveness, humanity, and change that comes with that, and to be up there with such talented motherfuckers,” she shared.

“Everyone is aiming for growth, not stagnation. The world needs that attitude right now. Thank you to all the newcomers who have shown me their love and support.”

Words of support also came from other musicians, with KoRn drummer Ray Luzier, former Every Time I Die guitarist Andy Williams, Better Lovers’ Greg Puciato and bandmates Piggy D. and Gil Sharone among those sharing messages in the comments section.

Piggy D. also shared a post confirming his role in the live band, previously writing: “It is with immense gratitude that I stand alongside these beautiful and inspiring people on this incredible journey, hope to see you all there!”

In March 2022, Manson filed a defamation lawsuit against Wood, but the main charges were dismissed last May. However, parts of the case are still ongoing and a trial is pending.

In January, he was ordered to pay Wood’s legal fees, which amounted to approximately $326,000. In February, it was also announced that Manson would pay the legal fees of artist Illma Gore, named as the second defendant and described as Wood’s “on-and-off romantic partner” in her defamation lawsuit.

Gore is reportedly due more than $160,000, bringing Manson’s total to nearly $500,000. The awards were made under California’s anti-SLAPP law, which states that defendants who are wrongfully prosecuted for violating their freedom of speech can have their attorneys’ fees reimbursed by the plaintiff.

Other accusers include: Game of Thrones Actress and former girlfriend Esme Bianco and her ex-girlfriend Ashley Morgan Smithline. Smithline’s lawsuit has since been dismissed, while Manson denied Bianco’s allegations as “baseless” and reached a settlement with her in January 2023.

He was also accused by a person known only as Jane Doe in September 2023 – however, her case was settled a week before trial.

Last September, he reached a private settlement with a plaintiff who accused him of raping her in 2011. Separately, last month, his former assistant Ashley Walters won a crucial appeal that revived her case, initially dismissed last year. In her complaint, she alleges that Manson sexually assaulted her, whipped her and threw her against a wall during a drug-induced rage.

Last month, a woman who claims Manson subjected her to “horrific” abuse as a minor in the 1990s spoke out publicly for the first time. “I am no longer an anonymous victim, I stand before you as Bianca Allaine Kyne, a survivor. Today, I find my voice, a voice stolen for far too long,” she said in a statement released by her attorney, Jeff Anderson.

Manson’s attorney, Howard King, denied the allegations and said the claims were “vicious lies” that amounted to “extortion” of his client.

He said Rolling stone“Brian Warner does not know this person and does not remember meeting her 28 years ago. He certainly has never had an intimate relationship with her. She has been selling her fabricated story to tabloids and on podcasts for over three years. But even a close examination reveals the obvious contradictions in her ever-changing narratives and her extensive collusion with other false accusers.”

NME I have contacted King for further comment.
